Narine also provides recipes based on astrological signs, such as for Scorpio, a Gracious Grapefruit Mask made of grapefruit, egg yolk, and soothing honey to rejuvenate your skin even after a late night.Narine is from a long line of Armenian women who have been harnessing the powers of nature to create everlasting beauty. Homemade goodies for your skin & a few for your belly February 16, 2010 C. Hamilton (FL) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Return To Beauty is a book full of wonderful Eastern European traditional skin and hair care recipes that can be made with simple things you have in your kitchen (lemon juice, water, honey, etc). What I loved the most about this book is that it has an Astrology section. Not only does it tell the typical things about your personality, but it says what foods are appropriate for your sign. I found it entertaining and accurate!
The book also contains different recipes for different seasons, a pregnancy section, recipes for acne and dandruff and even a section for men. I literally sat down and when through this book for hours when I first got it. I have only tried one of the recipes so far, but I plan on making more this weekend. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I do.
a wonderful find! January 4, 2010 Lotus Girl (Pasadena, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I want to EAT this book - the author's recipes are simple and work wonders. Go easy on the oils but my skin is loving its all natural diet! And the fun astrological facts make this the most unique gift. I bought a copy for ten of my friends and they're all sharing it together. What's her next book?
Inner Radiance, Outer Beauty December 25, 2009 Julie Clayton (Portland, OR) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I once read that you should never put anything on your skin that you wouldn't also put into your mouth. Well, this book is nothing but mouth-watering skin care recipes that are quick and easy (often only two or three ingredients), and many of the ingredients are already in your kitchen. They require a little more effort than store-bought beauty products, however, since they have to be kept refrigerated and made frequently. Personally, I find this a small price to pay for the benefit of natural skin care--chemical-free and nutrient-rich.
And, although I can't state with scientific certainty that the recipes actually reduce lines or make my skin healthier, I can say that I feel so much better making and using my own beauty potions that my inner radiance comes through and this is what people notice. Yes, I understand that beauty is more than skin deep, but we women know that if we feel good, we look good.
Return to Beauty is nicely presented and easy to use. It includes step-by-step directions for giving yourself a facial, as well as recipes specific to the seasons, skin types, and sun signs; simple solutions for skin, hair, and nail care; pregnancy skin care--there is even a short section on skin care for men. If you're ready to invest a few extra minutes of your time and energy into feeling and looking good, try some of the recipes and see the results for yourself. You're worth it.
Natural Beauty Aids December 21, 2009 D. Sammons (Denver, CO USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am giving this as a gift to my daughter-in-law who is vegan. She is into all things natural and everything in this book is natural. The book is divided into both seasonal treatments for different types of skin as well as by fire, water, earth and one other "sign" to address all types of skin needs. A basic, natural beauty aid book.
