Great overall fitness magazine with real facts July 19, 2010 Gina Higley (Portland OR) This is a great magazine for those interested in fitness and health and that appreciate the sceintific truth and research proving if it works or not... with so many gimics out there i have found this magazine to be straight forward, easy to apply and well worth a subscription! The best fitness magazine out there currently... lots of fun stuff and facts and how-tos...
Love this magazine! June 5, 2010 Manpreet Dhaliwal (Houston, TX) I love this magazine over any other fitness magazine that is out there. This one has real exercises and real articles to help you get in to the shape you want to be in. Every magazine had very different work out and recipes that were easy to follow.
too bad it's only 6 issues per year! April 16, 2010 Goth Hippy (Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
But I think it's worth it, for the excellent, scientifically researched information (wow, what a concept!).
I like this magazine much MUCH better than Oxygen or Women's Health. Oxygen has too much fluff, supplement ads that look like articles (Fitness Rx does too, but not half as many as Oxygen), and tries to promote almost-instant results (yeah, right!). Plus some (not all) of the information - meh, kinda dubious, if you ask me. I'd rather take advice from scientists than from a publisher / businessman, thanks. If I'm going to spend $5 on a magazine, I'd much rather it go to one with actual scientific data. I think the only other magazine worth subscribing to besides Rx is Prevention (though I like their special issues better than their regular issues).
Yes, you only get 6 issues per year, but with a subscription it's still only 3.49 an issue, which isn't bad at all for what you're getting.
It would be great if they could publish special issues like Prevention and Women's Health does that cover specific topics like health, flat abs, walking, etc.
But still, all in all, it's great to FINALLY find a women's fitness magazine no fluff and ALL substance - highly recommended!
Great Informative Magazine January 11, 2009 James Bowley (mollyjake) I am a subscriber to a Fitness and Shape magazines. I read them cover to cover each month and wanted something fresh and new; so I picked up Fitness RX at the store. The set up of the magazine is different and does have the regular diet pill ads, etc. but I really enjoyed it.
The information is all based on studies that have been done and it tells you where you can find that information. Everything is backed by facts and/or reasoning. The information being preseneted is not merely the opinion of the journalists or editors. It includes inspiring success stories, health tips, beauty, and much more.
Don't be scared away by all of the research based information being presented in this magazine. Everything is written in a way that is easy to understand, eliminating the medical jargon. If you are just starting out your journey to fitness and health or a die hard gym rat, this magazine covers all angles.
I have already read this one cover to cover and cannot wait to get the next one!
They are better now December 1, 2008 L. Lagazo (Kauai, Hawaii, USA) When I first subscribed to this magazine, I found I didn't really enjoy it. There was alot of things about fashion and makeup and such. Now a days I have seen that they have improved and focus more on fitness topics which is what I like and the whole reason I purchase this magazine in the first place. Good job!
