This is my favorite fitness magazine. Get this magazine if you are looking for a good fitness magazine and are tired of all those `roided out magazines.

3 out of 5 stars Fairly Good If You Get Past The Ads   March 11, 2010

Ordered this five weeks ago and have not received an issue yet so I'll keep waiting, they say it can take up to eight weeks to receive an issue, so I'll update my review when (and if) I get an issue in.

[Update]

Just got it in several days ago. Like all the fitness magazines it's drowning in ads. It also has plenty of the somewhat new type of ads that make themselves look like an article of the magazine and not an ad.

Once you filter out the ads the articles themselves seem to be pretty good and fairly well written.

They keep the sex articles down fairly well and do not have them every other article like other fitness magazines seemingly do.

purchased magazine for a Christmas gift and the person hasn't received the magazine yet. All the other subscriptions I ordered at that time have been received.

5 out of 5 stars Full of tips for the health conscious, serious weightlifter, no smut   November 30, 2009

My husband is a certified personal trainer and has been lifting weights for over 10 years and works out consistently at least 5 days a week himself. Overall health and fitness is very important to him. He follows a strict diet and prides himself in staying up to date on all the newest workout routines. He constantly changes up his routine and alternates between free weights, calisthenics, cardio, and high intensity training...and that's just the stuff I'm aware of!! He loves this magazine. He hates wasting time reading a bunch of fluff or redundant info he already knows. He wants real advice and tips applicable to a seasoned workout buff.

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't seem up-to-date with the latest research   November 22, 2009

I got a couple issues, and they don't seem to be up-to-date with the latest research in exercise and nutrition. I've read Iron Man and Muscle and Fitness and thought I'd give this one a try. I prefer Iron Man and Muscle and Fitness as they provide both "classic" information and updates on the latest research with quoted sources.
